Government Leads Initiative to Train Future Data Professionals

The Director General of the National Bureau of Statistics Agustino Ting Mayai, has taken a bold step towards building the next generation of data experts.

“Today, the National Statistics Enhancement Program (SEP), organised by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), proudly launched its Traineeship in Demography, Health, and Gender Statistics,” said Mayai during the launch event on Friday.

“This groundbreaking initiative will equip young South Sudanese with the skills to collect, analyse, and interpret data that drives evidence-based policies and shapes our nation’s future,” he added.

Mayai revealed that the Bureau of Statistics is producing data that will aid in creating informed decisions and stronger policies.

“By investing in knowledge and capacity, we are not just producing statistics; we are fostering informed decisions, stronger policies, and a more equal society.

Data is power. Data is change. Data is our future,” he concluded.
