The government of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) has launched campaign to recover all abducted children and women and return them to their places of origin.

John Joseph Abulla, the Deputy Chief Administrator of GPAA said that the Chief Administrator, Lokole Ame Bullen has tasked them to return all abducted children in GPAA.

“We are making a campaign, the chief administrator issued order for combating child abduction, it is our task as the government of GPAA to make sure that each and every child that does not belong to GPAA will be returned,” Abulla said on Saturday while handing over 5 abducted children to Sarah Nene, the Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State.

“We are facing so many challenges to recover those kids, we have been confronting the abductors and they gang themselves up, it needs more efforts, you need to send troops to fight with them to be able to get an abducted child,” he said.

Abulla said that they have since January 2024, recovered more than 16 abducted children, returning them to Pochalla, Eastern Equatoria and Central Equatoria State, adding that the campaign to trace abducted kids is endless.

“We need to put our hands together to fight criminals, instead of generalizing the entire community, we need to single out criminals, and fighting community will not end criminal activities,” he said.

“We need forces to be deployed in Greater Pibor Administrative Area so that they can be able to deter the movement of the criminals, we need to focus on security, without peace we will not be able to deliver services to our communities,”Abulla added.
