The Second deputy chairman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Kuol Mayang Juuk on Monday urged State Chairpersons of the ruling party to build schools to improve quality education.

He made these remarks during the swearing in ceremony in Juba of the new Governor of Central Equatoria State Gen. Augustino Jadalla Wani, Elias Richard Box the Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria State and Gola Boyoi Gola, Chief Administrative of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA).

“Let us open our schools, don’t wait for the government to go and build the schools for you, you are the government, you must mobilize your people to build your schools for your children,” Kuol said.

He said they should not wait for the national government to build schools for their children.

“Even using the local materials, using mud and the poles from your trees and building the wall, we don’t have to bring things from outside because we have to build our country with our local resources and by ourselves,” Kuol said.

Kuol urged citizens to pay taxes so that the government is able to provide them with services.

“The government can never be rich unless we pay taxes, we produce and pay the taxes to the government and these taxes shouldn’t go to the pockets of individuals,” he said.
