AGOSS has called for stronger collaboration among all health stakeholders to address this critical issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Idyoro Ikarak, President of AGOSS, specifically urged health stakeholders to work together to prevent postpartum hemorrhage among mothers in Juba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Together, let us strengthen efforts to prevent postpartum hemorrhage and save the lives of mothers in South Sudan,&#8221; Ikarak stated. &#8220;Every drop counts; one donation can make a difference.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of their initiative, AGOSS conducted a two-day blood donation drive at Juba Teaching Hospital on October 5-6, 2026. The event also featured an educational presentation on postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) to inform the public and healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Established in 2015, AGOSS is dedicated to advancing women&#8217;s health, improving clinical standards, and supporting medical professionals in South Sudan. Membership is open to all medical doctors who have completed postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology and are registered with the South Sudan General Medical Council (SSGMC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ikarak expressed appreciation to all blood donors, healthcare workers, and partners who contributed to the success of the blood donation drive, emphasizing that blood donation is a cornerstone of maternal healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We must raise awareness about postpartum hemorrhage and promote voluntary blood donation,&#8221; Ikarak stressed. &#8220;We truly emphasize the importance of early recognition and prompt management of PPH to prevent maternal deaths.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of South Sudan (AGOSS) is intensifying its efforts to prevent postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), a leading cause of maternal deaths, by promoting blood donation and raising awareness about this life-threatening condition.
