It forms part of Britain&#8217;s broader commitment to supporting the country&#8217;s health sector transformation project and improving access to essential health services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UK&#8217;s support aims to enhance the quality of health services, strengthen the health system, and save lives in Africa&#8217;s youngest nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aid is expected to be delivered through the Health Sector Transformation Project, which focuses on climate-resilient infrastructure, enhanced referral systems, and improved working conditions for frontline health workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement released on Wednesday by the UK embassy in Juba, Ambassador Fabrizi stated, &#8220;I look forward to continuing this important work. Since I arrived just two weeks ago, we have announced a further \u00a310.7 million contribution to the Health Sector Transformation Project.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;If they are well managed, South Sudan&#8217;s extraordinary natural assets could offer tremendous promise for future prosperity for the whole population.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The embassy highlighted that their health partnership is helping families get the care they need, with the UK&#8217;s support enabling over two million malaria patients to be tested and treated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond health, the UK also supports the education sector, which has helped 1.5 million children, most of them girls, access or complete their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&#8220;Their futures are at the heart of our long-term commitment to South Sudan,&#8221; the statement emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The embassy also announced an additional \u00a32.35 million in funding this week to mitigate the risks of El Ni\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Having helped nearly 100,000 people adapt to climate change, we look forward to supporting resilient livelihoods and the sustainable use of these assets,&#8221; it stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concluding, the embassy affirmed the long shared history between the United Kingdom and the people of South Sudan, pledging continued support during this vital period of South Sudan&#8217;s transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;As we work to achieve a South Sudan that is stable, peaceful, and prosperous, the United Kingdom remains proud of its wide-ranging support for the people of South Sudan.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Kingdom has announced \u00a310.7 million in aid to strengthen South Sudan&#8217;s health system, improve the quality of healthcare services, and help save lives in the country.<br \/>\nThis funding was announced recently upon the arrival of UK Ambassador to South Sudan, Rebecca Fabrizi.
