South Sudan joined on March 1, 2024, the rest of Africa to celebrate the African Day of School Feeding at Maluil Akoon Primary School in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State

The World Food Programme (WFP) on Wednesday distributed food assistance to 500 internally displaced persons from Abyei Special Administrative Area sheltering at Akuom Boma of Aweil East County of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.

The World Food Programme (WFP) has cut food rations for nearly 12,000 Sudanese refugees at Wedwell refugee settlement in Aweil West County in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State due to significant funding gaps.

The U.N. refugee agency (UNHCR) said on Wednesday appealed for 1.4 billion U.S dollars to support nearly 2.6 million people in five countries neighbouring Sudan, including South Sudan.

It is midday in Halbul and the harsh dry season heat is taking a toll on farmer Nyandeng Noon Agany as she makes her way through the village to her house. Wooden poles, a thatched roof, and papyrus walls make the place she and her six children call home. Nyandeng’s children are taking shelter from the heat under the porch, eagerly awaiting their mother’s arrival.
