Preparations for South Sudan’s 2026 general elections are intensifying in Jonglei State following the arrival of voter registration materials in Bor, according to Tuor Majok, chairperson of the Jonglei State High Elections Committee.
Majok announced on Wednesday that the National Elections Commission (NEC) delivered the materials to support the upcoming voter registration exercise and prepare the state for the electoral process.
The consignment includes 1,300 notebooks, 1,000 T-shirts, 48 executive shirts, 350 caps, 1,100 pens, and 150 reflectors. It also contains essential equipment such as a generator, projection screen, Epson multimedia projector, phone megaphones, a rechargeable speaker, and batteries.
Majok stated that the High Elections Committee in Jonglei State has already assessed potential registration centers across the state.
He urged the people of Jonglei State to prepare for the registration exercise and turn out in large numbers.
“I urge the population in Jonglei State to prepare and turn up in big numbers for voter registration in order to get a chance to vote for the leaders of their choice,” said Majok.
Tuor added that the committee will announce the specific locations and other details once the NEC officially publicizes the voter registration date.
The arrival of these electoral materials marks a significant step in Jonglei State’s preparations for the registration process,ahead of the general elections scheduled for December 22, 2026.
