SPLM Launches Membership Registration Drive in Twic County

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Twic County has officially launched a membership registration drive aimed at strengthening party membership, promoting unity and expanding grassroots participation across the county.

The registration drive was launched on Monday, with SPLM secretariats from all six payams of Twic County actively participating. The participating payams included Turalei, Aweng, Ajak Kuac, Wunrok, Akoc Thon and Pannyok.

Members of the Twic County SPLM Women’s League and Youth League also attended the event, demonstrating broad participation across different sections of the community.

The initiative is intended to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures, increase membership and promote unity among SPLM members across Twic County.

Twic County Commissioner and SPLM Chairperson, Hon. Mangok Kom Nyuol, urged SPLM members across the county to actively participate in the registration exercise and formally register their membership.

He emphasized the importance of unity and active participation in strengthening the party and advancing its objectives within the county.

Commissioner Mangok described the SPLM as the ruling party and credited it with playing a leading role in the liberation struggle that resulted in South Sudan’s independence in 2011.

He also commended President Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan and Chairman of the SPLM, for his leadership and for contributing to the realization of South Sudan’s independence.

Meanwhile, Warrap State SPLM Secretary Wol Maperdit called on SPLM members across the state’s counties to actively mobilize and engage fellow party members ahead of the December 2026 elections.

Wol emphasized the importance of unity and collective mobilization to ensure strong participation in the elections.

He urged SPLM supporters to vote for President Salva Kiir Mayardit, saying the party should retain leadership to continue implementing its development agenda for South Sudan.

Twic County SPLM Secretary Samuel Mawien Piok has called on all SPLM members in the county to remain firmly behind President Salva Kiir Mayardit ahead of the upcoming elections.

He urged party members to demonstrate unity and strong support for the SPLM and its leader, stressing that solidarity within the party is essential to securing electoral success and promoting the progress and stability of South Sudan.
