The caretaker Commissioner of Juba County, Kalisto Lado Faustino, has launched a lighting project at Freedom Bridge aimed at improving nighttime security and road safety for motorists and pedestrians using the busy crossing.

The project, launched on Thursday, is a collaboration between Light House General Trading and Investment Co. Ltd and Juba County authorities. The county administration aims to bolster public infrastructure and strengthen security monitoring around the bridge after dark.

During the launch, Commissioner Kalisto Lado stated that the new lighting would significantly improve safety for road users and aid security surveillance, especially at night.

“We are not sleeping; we are always on the ground implementing the plans we make in the office. We are not here simply to sit in our offices,” Kalisto asserted.

According to Kalisto, the project demonstrates the county administration’s commitment to transforming development plans into practical initiatives that benefit residents and upgrade public infrastructure.

He emphasized that the administration is dedicated to ensuring planned projects are implemented rather than remaining mere proposals discussed in offices.

Kalisto extended his gratitude to the security organs in Juba County and the administration of Rajaf Payam for their cooperation and support in bringing the lighting project to fruition.

He highlighted the importance of collaboration between local authorities and security agencies in supporting development initiatives and improving community and road user safety.

Furthermore, Kalisto reaffirmed his commitment to realizing President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s development vision, in alignment with directives from Central Equatoria State’s caretaker governor, Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani.

The Freedom Bridge lighting project is part of the Juba County administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and infrastructure.

Once completed, the lights are expected to significantly improve visibility for motorists and pedestrians crossing the bridge at night, while simultaneously strengthening security in the surrounding area.

Given that Freedom Bridge is a vital crossing, improved visibility is a key consideration for those traveling after dark.

Light House General Trading and Investment Co. Ltd, a national company, is undertaking this project in partnership with county authorities as part of broader initiatives to improve lighting and safety across Juba County.
