THE VOICE OF JESUS (WITH PASTOR JAMES WADENG)
{THEME: THOU SHALL NOT KILL (PART 2}
Text: Exodus 20:13 KJV “Thou shall not kill.”
Calvary greetings in the name of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in Jesus name. Amen!
At the beginning of this month, I started a conversation titled “THOU SHALL NOT KILL” and my emphasis was on the fact that man was created in the image and likeness of God according Genesis 1:26-27.
I also made it clear that during creation no other being was created in God’s image and likeness accept man and that God can never take it lightly when you kill and destroy his image. Think on that deeply. Hope you were blessed?
Today by God’s grace, we are going deeper into the same topic of THOU SHALL NOT KILL. The main emphasis for today’s conversation will focus on the fact that killing of innocent life or shedding of innocent blood is not just a sin but one of the most abominable sin before God with severe consequences.
In Proverbs 6:17-19, the bible says that there are six things that God hate but seven are abomination unto him. The list of these seven things that are abomination unto God goes as follows; a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked imagination, feet that are swift in running to do evil, a false witness who speak lies, and one who sow discord among brethren.
These seven things are not just hated by the lord but he consider them the most abominable things before him. That is why shedding of innocent blood or killing of innocent lives is not a light thing before God.
In Genesis 4:2-12, Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God. Cain sacrifice was rejected but Abel’s own was accepted and that made Cain jealous of his brother Abel.
God spoke to him saying why is your countenance fallen? If you do well, shall you not be accepted?. God told him sin is at your door but you must rule over it. Cain never listen to what God told him.
God encouraged him and warned him against the sin of blood shed but he paid deaf ears and killed his brother Abel because of jealously.
Now Cain did the most abominable thing before God as we read in Proverbs 6:17-19 and the lord cursed the ground because of him so that no matter what he does, nothing can work for him.
God also cursed him saying that you will be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth. The word fugitive and vagabond here stands for a homeless wanderer. A degraded outcast moving from place to place.
In our generation today, there are many who have killed people and they are experiencing the curse of blood shed. Nothing work in their hands because of the curse that is following them.
My beloved father in the lord Pastor E.A Adeboye, General Overseer, Rccg Worldwide, define a curse as all forces in heaven, on earth , and under the earth jointly working against you. If a curse of blood shed is working against you, you are finish because nothing will work for you.
There are some people who have killed innocent lives and thought that they can get away with it. For example, those who attack people’s houses at night, kill people and take people’s belongs.
Most times, they think that nobody knows about their acts but what they don’t know is that there is a God in heaven who sees all things and nothing is hide before him.
God who is the judge of heaven and earth can see what is happening in the dark. If you are in this category please run to God and he will have mercy upon you if you genuinely repent before him.
II Samuel 12:1-12, David had killed Uriah the hittite and took over his wife and God in heaven was very annoyed with David for doing such an abominable act before him.
Prophet Nathan was sent to David to declare God’s judgement and the judgement of God was severe on David.
King David suffered the consequences of killing Uriah in many ways from his own family to his kingship, he experienced the hand of God against him because of shedding innocent blood.
There was a certain woman very many years ago who killed a child. The child was her own. She got impregnated by a different man because her husband was away for years. But because of the fear of people, she delievered the child and killed the child. What she did was later discovered and the husband was sent for. The family sat and the husband was convinced never to let her go and he forgave her but she suffered the consequences of killing that innocent child. For years, she give birth to children but they all died instantly. There is severe consequences when you kill innocent life.
Beloved, today make up your mind never to offend God by shedding blood and God will bless you in Jesus Name.
PRAYER: Father, please deliever me from the sin of blood shed and help me to please you daily in Jesus name.
DECLARATION: Receive your delieverance from every spirit of blood shed and may your life please him in Jesus name.
ALTAR CALL: If you want to surrender your life to Jesus, kindly repeat these prayer after me.
Dear, lord Jesus, I acknowledge that i am a sinner. Come into my life and make me a new person. Remove my name from the book of death and write my name in the book of life. Today I received you as my lord and saviour. Amen!
